Coming from defeat to Robert whittaker e Sean Strickland, Borrachinha found his way back to winning ways at UFC 318, in New Orleans, when he won Roman Kopylov by unanimous decision. The victory ended a drought that had lasted since 2022 and put the Brazilian back on the map in the middleweight division (up to 84 kg).
