Just a few days away from the expected UFC Paris, scheduled for this Saturday (6), the event underwent an important change in its card. The French fares ziam announced his withdrawal from the fight against the Brazilian Kaue Fernandes for personal reasons. The news was confirmed by the European fighter himself, through a post on social media this Monday (1st).

In a message posted on Instagram, Ziam explained that the decision to withdraw from the commitment was motivated by the death of his grandmother. The athlete, who is of Algerian descent, stated that he is involved in funeral arrangements, both in France and abroad, and emphasized that family is his priority at this difficult time.

"After my grandmother's sudden death, her funeral preparations in France and abroad. I regret to cancel my participation in the UFC Paris, on September 6. Family is my priority,” the lightweight wrote in the caption of the post.

Kauê Fernandes faces impasse at UFC Paris

With Ziam's withdrawal, the UFC has yet to officially comment on the status of the fight, which creates uncertainty regarding what will be done with it. Kaue FernandesThe Brazilian, who would make his second appearance in the octagon, is still waiting for a decision.
