The Fighting Nerds team enters September with high expectations for its top fighters. After a 100% success rate in August, the São Paulo-based team is preparing for challenges that could put its athletes directly on the path to the UFC title.
In August, the Nerds demonstrated dominance in the octagon and emerged victorious in all five of their fights. UFC 319, Carlos Prates, Michal Oleksiejczuk and Karina Killer shone with two knockouts and a decision victory. Already Rudolph Vieira e Bruna Brazil won their fights at UFC Vegas and Road to UFC, respectively.

September, however, promises to be even more decisive. UFC Paris, scheduled for September 6, Caio Borralho will make the most important fight of his career against Nassourdine Imavov. A victory could make him the next challenger for the middleweight belt (up to 83,9 kg), currently held by Khamzat Shimaev. In the same event, Mauricio Ruffy faces Benoit Saint-Denis, aiming for a spot in the top 15 of the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg).
We also pack any Jean Silva has a crucial commitment on September 13th: he faces Diego lopes in the main fight of UFC Night. The fight is seen as the final step for “Lord” to win a fight for the featherweight belt (up to 65,7 kg), dominated by Alexander Volkanovsky.

Despite the planning, the Nerds' rise could be affected by other results in the UFC. UFC 319, Lerone murphy knocked out Aaron Pico with an impressive spinning elbow and challenged Volkanovski, who responded to the Briton with enthusiasm:

At middleweight, the outlook is also uncertain. Even if Borralho wins in Paris and takes the top spot in the rankings, the fight between anthony hernandez e Reinier DeRidder, scheduled for October 18th at UFC Vancouver, could change the entire division's landscape. A dominant performance by either of them could lead Chimaev to choose another opponent before the Brazilian.
