Former light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg) and looking for a new chance to fight for the belt, Jan Blachowicz signed a contract to perform on November 22nd, at UFC QatarAt 42 years old, the Polish fighter is preparing to face Bogdan Gusgov, a Russian considered one of the biggest prospects in the category. This information was confirmed by the prospect's coach.

Currently ranked fifth in the light heavyweight rankings, Blachowicz doesn't hide his hunger for the opportunity to face Magomed Ankalayev ou Alex Poatán for the second time in his career. Tied with the Russian and outclassed by the Brazilian, the Pole has been unable to return to winning ways since facing both in the Octagon. In his last appearance, the veteran was defeated by Carlos Ulberg, in a decision that generated controversy in the MMA community.

Chosen to welcome Poatan to the light heavyweight division when the São Paulo native switched divisions, Blachowicz put up a close fight but ultimately lost a split decision. At the time, the veteran expressed outrage at the scorecards and asked for a rematch against his penultimate opponent.
