In preparation to defend the heavyweight belt (up to 120,2 kg) for the first time against Cyril Gane in the main fight of UFC 321, Tom aspinall seeks to make up for lost time waiting for Jon Jones and build a dominant history in the most prestigious category of combat sports. However, his father and coach makes it clear that his main concern is far from the Englishman's performance inside the octagon.

In a video published on the champion's official YouTube channel last Sunday (31), Andy Aspinall said he was worried about his son's health in a sport as brutal as MMA.

Tom aspinall suffered a serious knee injury in his only defeat in the Ultimate, in July 2022. On that occasion, he faced Curtis blaydes in the main fight of UFC London and ended up losing by technical knockout 15 seconds into the fight after tearing two ligaments and his meniscus. He underwent surgery and returned just a year later. Since then, the Englishman has won three consecutive fights and become the division champion. In his last appearance, he knocked out Blaydes in the rematch, in the first round.
