Daniel Cormier had no problems express your opinions about Jon Jones and how steroid use affects his legacy. However, the topic is far from being viewed in the same way by other MMA personalities. Matt Brown, for example, doesn't think it's fair to exclude names like Anderson Silva and Bones himself from the list of greatest of all time just because they failed drug tests.

In the last edition of Espaitec's 'The Fighter vs. The Writer', this Tuesday (2), Brown raised questions about the strictness of anti-doping tests carried out by agencies such as Usada, in addition to believing that Cormier was not impartial when talking about his rival.

"Realistically, that shouldn't rule him out because the vast majority of the guys he's competing against are doing the same shit. So I think (for Cormier) it's a little personal. If you believe that USADA, the drug testing, is real and is actually holding people back, then you can say that Jon Jones shouldn't be the biggest, or on Mount Rushmore, or anything, because of that specific incident or multiple incidents involving Jon Jones, I think. But if you look at it realistically, the vast majority are doing it if they have the financial means or the resources to do so,” said Brown, who competed in the UFC between 2008 and 2023.

Continuing his argument, the former fighter cited athletes who were never caught in anti-doping tests, but who were accused of using drugs by others involved.

“If you want to talk only about Jon Jones, Anderson Silva (etc.), they tested positive, fine. That's an easy argument, but you could talk about (Georges St-Pierre), there were many opinions that he was on drugs. You could take pretty much every guy in that greatest of all time argument, and it's an opinion whether they were on drugs or not," he concluded.
