The countdown to the highly anticipated UFC Rio gained a new chapter this week. In a video posted on Chute Boxe's official YouTube channel, Charles of the Bronx appears in intense action in training, giving clues about what his strategy could be for the duel against Raphael Fiziev, scheduled for October 11th, at the Jeunesse Arena, in Rio de Janeiro.
In the images, the former lightweight champion shows a clear emphasis on takedowns, cage control and grappling, all under the watchful eye of his wrestling coach, Alireza Noei.

The fight marks Charles' return to the octagon just three months after his tough loss to Ilia Topuria No. UFC 317, when he was knocked out in the first round. His lackluster performance against the Georgian raised questions about his physical and mental fitness, but the Chute Boxe athlete seems determined to turn things around in front of his own fans.
On the other side will be Raphael Fiziev, currently ranked number 10 in the lightweight division. The Kyrgyz is known for his sharp striking, explosive speed, and history of brutal knockouts.
Beyond the sporting challenge, UFC Rio carries symbolic weight for Brazilians. This will be Charles's first time fighting on Brazilian soil in front of a crowd, something he hasn't done since his 2020 victory. Kevin Lee No. UFC Brasilia.
