Caio Borralho almost shared the octagon with Anthony Hernandez . The Brazilian, scheduled for the main event of UFC Paris on September 6th, hasn't fought since August 2024 and, during his inactivity, even had a verbal agreement to face 'Fluffy'.
In an interview with 'Full Violence,' Caio recalled that, while facing a 'forced hiatus' in his career, he challenged Hernandez on X (formerly Twitter). The American, who doesn't use the platform, received the message on Instagram and responded with interest in scheduling the fight, which pleased the Brazilian.

“When nobody wanted to fight me, I called his name ( Anthony Hernandez ) on the X, but he doesn’t have an X. But someone sent it to him on Instagram. He came to me on Instagram and said, ‘Dude, I saw you called my name. Let’s make this fight happen.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, man. That’s what I’m talking about. Let’s do this respectfully. But let’s do it.’ That’s what we do. We fight,” said the representative from Fighting Nerds.
According to Borralho, Hernandez signaled to the UFC that he wanted the fight, but later informed that the organization had other plans for him.
“A week later he said, ‘Okay, I’ll talk to the UFC and tell them I want this fight, let’s do it.’ I said, ‘Okay, I’m ready in July, August.’ He came to me and said, ‘Oh, the UFC has other plans for me,’ and I said, ‘Okay, man, but I respect you for accepting.’”, concluded Caio Borralho.
