Scheduled to face each other on November 15th, at UFC 322, Islam makhachev e Jack Della Maddalena are increasingly heating up their rivalry for a title fight in the welterweight division (up to 77,1 kg). This time, however, it was Javier Mendez, the Russian's coach, who used spotlights to alert the opposing team before the fight.

Aware that Jack and his coach underestimated Islam's technical qualities in stand-up fighting, Mendez didn't hesitate to assert that his pupil has a great ability to beat athletes with a strong striking ability.

"I hope JDM believes this, because when he steps into the octagon with Islam, he'll find it's a completely different story. Islam isn't an easy fight for anyone. No MMA fighter who's a striker is going to have an easy time with him. I've been with this kid since he was 11 years old, and I've seen him destroy everyone on the feet, guys much better than him on the feet, and he still destroyed them. Don't be fooled by appearances; when you're in there with that man, it's going to be a completely different story," Javier said in an interview with Submission Radio.
