Caio Borralho's opponent heats up the rivalry ahead of UFC Paris: 'It's personal'

Just a few days away from sharing the octagon with Nassourdine Imavov in the main fight of UFC Paris, Caio Borralho arrives for the most important fight of his career without harboring negative feelings towards his opponent. However, the same cannot be said about the Frenchman. During an interview with RMC Sports Combat this Wednesday (3), the host said he believes the Fighting Nerds star has deliberately avoided showing the animosity present in the fight.

The Brazilian made it clear that he sees no personal component to the fight. According to him, the match is simply another opportunity to prove himself as one of the best middleweights in the world (up to 83,9 kg) and continue building his legacy.

"It's not personal, it's just business. Just two of the best guys in the world facing off to see who's going to fight for the belt," he stated categorically.

On the other hand, in addition to highlighting his opponent's alleged anxiety or nervousness, Imavov also made clear his intention to win the fight quickly.

"It's too late. Of course it's personal... I'll do everything I can to finish this guy off before the fight is over. He's just playing a role. He's not as calm as he pretends to be," the Frenchman said.

A victory before the end of the fifth round would be very important for the Brazilian. Imavov holds the top ranking in the middleweight division (up to 83,9 kg), but with the rise of names like anthony hernandez e Ridder's Reinier, a victory by decision of the judges might not be enough to guarantee an opportunity to challenge Khamzat Shimaev by category title.

Despite this, Borralho was chosen to be the official reserve for the title fight between the Chechen and Dricus Du Plessis in the main fight of UFC 319.
