In over 10 years of UFC, Colby covington failed to gain widespread popularity. Despite the enormous fan base created primarily by the fighter's political preferences, the veteran has amassed a number of detractors. A recent surprise was the protest by the current featherweight champion (up to 65,7 kg), Alexander Volkanovsky, of hatred for the North American.

“A fighter I can’t stand? Oh man, yeah, Colby covington, that’s obvious, it’s an easy question,” he said Alexander Volkanovsky to 'The Unscripted Show' when asked about an athlete he doesn't like.
“I’m going to make it a little better for you. Colby, you’re a piece of shit and I dare you to come say something to my face because I would love to slap you. He’s just a piece of shit. "You often find idiots like him who go too far, some of the things he said, like, no. There are people who force a fight and then there are shitty people, and he's one of them," Volkanovski said.
Is Colby Covington's Octagon Return on the Horizon?
Despite the media appearance, the sporting moment of Colby covington is down. With just one win in his last four fights, the loudmouth American is trying to bounce back after losing to Leon edwards in December 2024, in a lackluster fight that once again took him out of the running for the belt.
Still, Covington made it clear that he intends to return to the octagon in 2025 and already has two targets in mind: Paddy Pimblett e Gilbert Durinho.
