Makhachev speaks out and blasts Maurício Ruffy after his loss at UFC Paris: 'Train more and talk less'

Maurício Ruffy sofreu um baque na carreira ao ser finalizado por Benoit Saint-Denis no UFC Paris, neste sábado (6). E quem não perdeu a chance de alfinetar o brasileiro foi Islam Makhachev, ex-campeão peso leve (até 70,3kg.) que tem luta marcada pelo cinturão dos meio-médios (até 77kg.). Em sua conta oficial no ‘X’ (antigo Twitter), o russo disparou contra o rival.

“Train more, talk less. That’s the key to success (…), Luffy has zero wrestling,” he wrote.

The provocation is nothing new. Even before his UFC debut in May 2024, Ruffy taunted Makhachev after knocking out one of the Russian's training partners on the Contender Series. At the time, the Brazilian provoked the Russian and urged him to enjoy his days as king, as he had arrived.

Later, Maurício also stated that he saw flaws in Makhachev's game and that he believes he has a chance of winning in a future duel.

No UFC Paris, Maurício Ruffy não conseguiu impor seu ritmo contra Saint-Denis, que usou sua luta agarrada para dominar e finalizar o brasileiro no segundo round, com um mata-leão. Foi a segunda derrota na carreira de Ruffy e a primeira dentro do octógono do Ultimate.
