“Caio is my friend, but he’s an idiot. He trained with us and it was useless. Me: 'What happened?', Caio: 'I'm cutting, I'm a reserve'. So you're giving up 4 weeks of your camp, cutting weight twice and having a fight coming up?" Strickland wrote in a post on 'X' (formerly Twitter).
The American didn't stop there. He reiterated the strategic error, in his opinion, and expressed some anger at the decision.
“Whoever told you to do this, please hit him. It was so frustrating I wanted to hit him. I didn't say anything because I wanted to cheer him up, but he really took bad advice from someone. That fight wasn't his doing. It was missing four weeks of training and cutting weight twice," Sean posted.

The highly anticipated UFC Paris night had a bitter ending for Brazil. The main attraction of the event held this Saturday at the Accor Arena, Caio Borralho, suffered his first defeat in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, losing by unanimous decision to Nassourdine Imavov, a local idol and current number 2 in the middleweight rankings (up to 83,9kg). The country has lost all three of its direct fights against French fighters.
With this result, the Frenchman consolidates his position as next in line for a title fight against Khamzat Chimaev, while the Brazilian sees his climb to the top of the 83,9 kg division halted.
With the victory, Nassourdine Imavov secures his fourth consecutive win in the UFC, now boasting a professional record of 17 wins, four losses, and one no-contest. More than that, the triumph solidifies his position as the next challenger for the middleweight title, currently held by the formidable Khamzat Chimaev.
Caio Borralho, who was undefeated in seven fights in the UFC and appeared as a possible contender for the top of the division, suffered his first defeat in the organization and is expected to lose positions in the rankings. Even so, the Brazilian showed resilience and remains one of the promising names in the category.
