Fighting Nerds releases statement after Caio Borralho and Mauricio Ruffy's defeats: 'We are human'

Elected 'Academy of the Year' in 2024, Fighting Nerds suffered a hard blow last Saturday (6), with the defeats of Caio Borralho e Mauricio Ruffy, two of the main representatives of the academy, in the main fights of the UFC ParisIn an official statement, the team took responsibility for the setbacks, but assured that its players will return stronger.

In a statement released on Fighting Nerds' official Instagram page, the team avoided apologies and blamed their own mistakes for Borralho and Luffy's defeats against Nassourdine Imavov e Benoit Saint-Denisrespectively.

"Yesterday we lost two fair fights. We can only blame our mistakes for that. We're reaching the highest level of the sport, where any mistake is held accountable. May these defeats help us get our feet back on the ground and get us back on our path to the top," the statement said.

Fighting Nerds also highlighted the achievements achieved in a short time within the largest MMA organization in the world, reinforcing that its athletes are human beings and guaranteeing that they are the "best in the world" at learning from their own mistakes.

"In three years in the UFC, we've done things in the sport that have captured the imagination of fans. We've made them believe we were superheroes. But we're human. We make mistakes and learn from them; at that, we're the best in the world. The time has come to show that once again. We'll always work to make our fans and Brazil proud. We'll make our own champions," he concluded.
