One of the most eccentric and controversial figures in all of MMA, Bryce mitchell lost his unbeaten record as a professional after being submitted by Ilia Topuria with a katagatame choke in a duel in December 2022. However, the American is interested in facing the current lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg) again. But this time, the fight wouldn't be in the octagon, but in a debate where the main topic of discussion would be the shape of Planet Earth.

Mitchell, an avowed defender of the flat-earther model, made himself available to discuss with the Georgian/Spanish, in addition to mentioning the champion's faith in a video posted on social media.

“Even if you say you are a Christian, you believe in the indoctrination you were taught in school about the word of God… I would like to debate with you about the shape of the Earth,” said the athlete, who now competes in the bantamweight category (up to 61,2 kg).

This isn't the first time the American has been embroiled in controversy. In January of this year, he questioned the veracity of the Holocaust and claimed that the atrocities committed by Adolf Hitler during the Second World War were caused by his addiction to drugs such as methamphetamine.

"I honestly think Hitler was a good guy, based on my own research, not my public education and indoctrination.
