Alex Poatán will have a drastic change in his life after his rematch against Magomed Ankalayev No. UFC 320At least, that's what the Russian believes. The current light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg) and the former champion will meet again in a duel scheduled for October 4th in Las Vegas (USA). While the Brazilian believes this will be the final chapter of the rivalry, the Dagestani fighter is betting on an unusual 'continuation' for the Pataxó.
In an interview with MMA Junkie, Poatan said he's not interested in a third fight against Ankalaev. The Brazilian believes that if the Russian loses, he'll never fight for the belt again.

"I think that's the end of the story. Obviously, it's out of my control; it's up to the UFC. If they want to do it again, I'll fight anyone. To be honest, with everything we've seen, I think if he loses, he'll never fight for the belt again," declared the former champion.
Magomed Ankalayev made a point of responding to Poatan. In a post on 'X', the light heavyweight champion provoked the Brazilian and stated that, after the fight, the kickboxer will return to his life before he found success in combat sports.
“You’re right, I won’t have a say in this, because you’ll be asleep and on your way to work at the tire shop again,” Ankalaev wrote.
