The Brazilian, who lives in Mexico City, did not fall for his compatriot's 'tension game' and made the Mexican fans celebrate by knocking out his rival with a spinning elbow at the end of the second round. The event was held this Saturday (13), in the city of San Antonio (USA).
As a result, the Diego lopes became the first fighter to win the Jean Silva in the UFC and broke the Santa Catarina native's 13-fight winning streak, which had lasted seven years. The Santa Catarina native came out on top in the second round, injuring his opponent with several hard punches and elbow attacks. However, he gave up his back again after losing his balance. The two remained on the ground for a few seconds, and Silva attacked aggressively in the final part of the round. Taking advantage of the attack, Diego lopes landed a perfect spinning elbow and knocked out his rival when the clock was at four minutes and 48 seconds.

Young Mexican enters top 10 in bantamweight with victory over veteran
In the co-main fight of Night UFC, David Martinez reached his ninth consecutive victory as a professional by defeating Rob font by unanimous decision in an intense fight. The second victory in the world's largest MMA organization should guarantee the Mexican a sudden rise to the top 10 in the bantamweight category (up to 61,2 kg) after the ranking updates next Tuesday (16).
More experienced, Font tried to establish his traditional jab and corner the young Mexican against the fence. Noticeably faster, Martinez moved laterally most of the time and landed strong punching combinations, especially in the first round.
The veteran managed to even the playing field in the second round thanks to some solid boxing combinations, but succumbed to the pressure and intensity of Martinez, who sought to end the fight with quick punches. Martinez even challenged the veteran to a frank exchange in the center of the octagon in the final seconds, a la Max Holloway.
At the end of the 15-minute fight, Martinez was declared the winner by unanimous decision, with all judges scoring 29 to 28 in his favor.

In the penultimate fight of the night, Rafa Garcia knocked out Jared gordon in the third round, in an action-packed duel, valid for the lightweight category (up to 70,3 kg). The Mexican delighted the local population and achieved his second consecutive victory, while the American returned to the losing column after the triumph against the Brazilian Thiago Moses in May this year.
The fight began with the Mexican taking the center of the cage, while the American landed precise strikes. Little by little, Garcia began to dominate at close range, landing the best strikes and briefly knocking Gordon down in the first round.
The intensity increased in the second round, when Garcia nearly secured a guillotine choke submission. From then on, Gordon responded forcefully, unleashing powerful cross combinations that put his opponent in a dangerous position and evened the balance of the fight.
However, Garcia regained control of the fight in the third round. He knocked Gordon down with a straight right, came close to finishing with a rear-naked choke, and forced the referee to stop the fight after landing heavy elbows on the ground at two minutes and 27 seconds into the third round.
