Brazilian was hit by a strong blow from a meeting

Ferreira adopted an offensive stance in the first round. He dominated the center of the Octagon and attempted to land powerful punches and kicks on his opponent while switching stances between combinations. Meanwhile, Hernandez moved laterally and avoided the Brazilian's attacks, landing straight punches and high kicks to both the waist and head.

The action was halted for a few seconds after the veteran was poked in the eye in the next round. Subsequently, both athletes attempted to become more aggressive. While Ferreira sought to close the distance, Hernandez attempted to connect with counter blows. In this context, the American took advantage of his opponent's attack to land a powerful cross to the temple, forcing the referee to stop the fight at three minutes and 46 seconds into the second round.

In an interview with Daniel Cormier inside the octagon, the hometown fighter thanked the crowd for their support, raised the possibility of another fight in 2025, and made a surprising request. At the end of the 15-minute battle, Kelvin Gastelum was declared the winner by unanimous decision, with two judges scoring it 29-28 in his favor and another 30-27.
