Initially waiting for the contract to arrive to face Shara Magomedov at UFC Qatar, Paulo Borrachinha was eventually informed that the Russian would not have enough time to recover from his injury and fight on November 22nd. It didn't take long for the UFC to find another fighter to offer the Brazilian next.
According to the former challenger for the middleweight belt (up to 83,9 kg), the proposal he received is to appear in the main fight of an event, against a member of the top 5.
"After Shara pulled out, I got some news... Someone got hurt in the main event, so the UFC asked me to fight a top-five contender for five rounds. I proposed three rounds due to the time constraints, and guess what? He said no to three rounds. What the hell! Cowards..." Borrachinha declared on his official X account.
