Renowned veteran in the world of combat sports, Gilbert Durinho indicates that his journey as a professional UFC fighter is nearing its end. Amid a negative phase in the organization, where he has four consecutive losses for the first time in his career, the Brazilian guarantees that his appearances in the Octagon will probably not continue.
A former welterweight title challenger (up to 77,1 kg) and well-liked by officials and fans, the fighter is keen to emphasize that threats of dismissal aren't the problem. On the contrary, under active contract, the Niteroi native claims he has four more fights to make, but his desires don't match all the opportunities at hand.

"My wife and I are investing our money wisely. I don't need to fight for money anymore; I fight because I enjoy it, because I have fun. I still have four fights left on my contract, but I'm willing to do maybe two more," Durinho declared in an interview with Buiten De Kooi.

At 39, Durinho, despite a losing streak, is still among the top 15 in the welterweight division. In his last appearance, the Brazilian ended up being knocked out by MichaelMorales and suffered a concussion, which forced him to step away from the octagon until the end of this year. It is not yet known when the veteran's next fight will be.
