Glover Teixeira predicts a 'brutal' first round in Alex Poatan's rematch with Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 320

The coach believes that Poatan will start the fight by putting pressure on his opponent from the first minute, making the duel more intense than the previous confrontation.

Glover Teixeira believes that the rematch between Alex Poatán e Magomed Ankalayev will be very different from the first confrontation. In UFC 313, held in March, the Russian controlled the distance, cooled the fight and had his arm raised after five rounds. In an interview with the podcast 'Overdogs Brasil', Glover Teixeira highlighted that Poatan must impose a much more dynamic rhythm, putting pressure on the Russian throughout the fight and showing his strength in the first round.

"There are guys who are different, right? Poatan is very confident, very focused. Now we're going to hone his timing, because he's already ready for five rounds... You can bet: this first round is going to be brutal. It's not that he'll come in angry, but he'll come in with that same style of his, just much more dynamic. Poatan will press the whole time, because he's ready for it," he said. Glover Teixeira.

Alex Poatán arrived at the UFC with little experience in professional MMA, but with high expectations, after having defeated Israel adesanya in kickboxing. In his initial career with the organization, he achieved three victories, two by knockout, which earned him the opportunity to face Adesanya for the middleweight title (up to 83,9 kg).
