Targeted by harsh criticism, Fighting Nerds is looking to rebuild after suffering three consecutive tough losses against its biggest UFC representatives. With two quick setbacks and experiencing slight difficulties in the grappling department, the gym has begun receiving expert advice.
After Kamaru Usman point out weakness When it comes to wrestling, veteran Michael Chiesa used the spotlight to respectfully reinforce the opinion given by the Nigerian.

"If I had to criticize Fighting Nerds, it would be: put more emphasis on wrestling. You should bring in an American fighter, someone from the Eastern Bloc, to help fill that gap, because they do everything else perfectly. That's the only flaw, so to speak, in wrestling. If they can fix that, they'll win a lot of important fights. They'll win a lot of important fights anyway, but yes, they're an incredible team," Chiesa told MMA Junkie.
In addition to the advice offered to the gym, the Ultimate commentator praised the achievements of nerds and asked that attacks directed at athletes be stopped.
“Everyone online saying, ‘Oh, the Fighting Nerds are finished.’ Shut up. This is still one of the best teams in the world. That’s what happens when you put the best against the best. Some of these fights were very close. Caio Borralho vs. Nassourdine Imavov, that was a close fight. Carlos Prates recovered. I hate people who just – the bias of everyone saying they’re the best in the world and then criticizing them. Stop it,” he continued.
Finally, Chiesa showed sympathy for the personality adopted by the leaders and fighters and admitted that he believes that returning to the path of victory depends only on filling the gap identified.
"They have something fun, something new. They walk around with these glasses and hand them out to people. I love that. But I think they're obviously a very smart team, hence the name, and at some point, if they can bring in someone who fills that gap between high-level wrestling and high-level grappling, someone who can bring it all together," he concluded.
Determined to bounce back, the team has already spoken out after losing streaks in the Octagon and assured that their pursuit of improvement will be constant. Without offering any apologies in their statement, the nerds have shown a willingness to change topics criticized by fans so that they can eventually return to the title race.
