Jailton Malhadinho wants to face the best in the UFC. The Bahian, who faces Alexander Volkov at UFC 321, he is very close to getting his shot at the belt and, when he gets there, he wants to overcome the biggest challenge possible.
In an exclusive interview with SUPER FIGHTSMalhadinho revealed his preference to face Tom Aspinal if he gets his title shot. The Bahia native believes that, as a more well-rounded fighter, the champion will pose a greater challenge inside the octagon.
"Boy, I'm a guy who likes to be tested. I prefer to fight Tom Aspinal, who is a complete guy. Cyryl Gane, everyone knows, he has that ground problem, even though he's wrestling. But I prefer Aspinal because he's well-rounded," said Malhadinho.

Despite being close to a title fight, Jailton Malhadinho still needs to go through Alexander Volkov before facing the champion. In this duel, in addition to the dreaded grappling, the Bahian intends to arrive sharp in all areas, including striking.
"I'm increasingly confident in my striking and boxing, and I'll be prepared as if it were my last fight. If I end up on bottom, we'll figure it out; if I end up on bottom, we'll figure it out too," he said. Jailton Malhadinho.

Signed through the Contender Series, Jailton Malhadinho debuted in the UFC in 2022 and strung together six consecutive victories, five of which were by knockout or submission. The Brazilian suffered his first setback in the organization in 2024, when he faced Curtis blaydes, but regained the winning path by finishing Alexander Romanov and knock out Serghei Spivac.
With his morale restored, Malhadinho has the chance to stamp his passport to the belt when he faces Alexander Volkov at UFC 321, scheduled for October 25 in Abu Dhabi.
