Renato Moicano eyes a spot to face Charles do Bronx at UFC Rio

Brazilian reacts to Rafael Fiziev's departure and emerges as an option for the main fight scheduled for October 11th

Renato Moicano, apparently, is eyeing the vacancy to face Charles of the Bronx at UFC Rio, scheduled for October 11th. After the 'Octagon Update' profile announced that Raphael Fiziev was out of the main fight of the event in Brazil, Money wasted no time and attracted attention on social media.

A few minutes after the news spread on X (formerly Twitter), Moicano posted an 'eyes' emoji, suggesting interest in replacing the Kyrgyz and facing Charles.

Moicano had a good run in the UFC lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg), where he won four straight, three of them by stoppage. This positive streak led to him receiving a last-minute title shot against Islam makhachev, but the Brazilian was no match for the Russian's grappling and ended up being submitted in the second round.

Next, Moicano faced Benil Dariush, but was defeated by the judges' decision. Now, a possible duel against Charles of the Bronx in Brazil it appears as an ideal opportunity for the fighter to recover, get back on the winning track and dream of a title fight again.
