With just under three weeks to go until UFC Rio, Charles of the Bronx remains without an opponent after the injury of Raphael Fiziev, confirmed last Friday (19). The Brazilian, who hopes to have his first fight in the country since 2020, even criticized rivals who, according to him, had turned down offers to face him at the event after offering themselves on social media.
Among the most persistent names is Mateusz gamrot. The Polish, currently number eight in the lightweight rankings, had already offered himself previously for the duel and, this Sunday (22), he once again publicly demanded a response from Charles, insinuating that the former champion would be reluctant to accept the confrontation.

“I heard you're worried about my style, even though you've had a whole training camp. I haven't had any training camp and yet I'm ready to step into the Octagon. Two weeks of preparation, I'm already at ATT (American Top Team) now. No excuses, let's do this, Charles of the Bronx”, the Polish man posted on his social media.
Besides Gamrot, Renato Moicano also made himself available to face the former champion at home. Already Benoit Saint-Denis, which had emerged as a possibility, had its presence discarded by the businessman after recently returning to the octagon in UFC Paris.
