Known for his impressive knockouts inside the octagon and an intimidating persona outside of it, Alex Poatan also has his playful moments, even if sometimes these come at the expense of others. In a video published on social media last Sunday (21), the former UFC middleweight (up to 83,9 kg) and light heavyweight (up to 93 kg) champion decided to “call out” Renato Moicano for supposedly causing a disagreement between him and Glover Teixeira after the former fighter gave an interview to the lightweight (up to 70,3 kg).

In the video, originally published on YouTubePoatan decided to focus his "dissatisfaction" on a specific question from Moicano, who asked Glover who would win in a hypothetical match between the student and the coach. Even before the call, the São Paulo native explained that he had no real problem with his compatriot.
"You're not in Las Vegas, are you? I'll meet you here someday, man. When we meet, we'll have a good chat," said the former champion.
"Boy, you don't have to worry about me. I didn't do anything to embarrass you or Glover," Moicano replied, before the light heavyweight (up to 93 kg) announced the joke and drew laughter from those present, including Teixeira himself, who participated in the plot.

While Renato Moicano spent a good part of his career in the featherweight division (up to 65,7 kg) and then transitioned to lightweight (up to 70,3 kg), Poatan has always competed in considerably heavier weight classes. After building a very successful career in kickboxing, the São Paulo native arrived in the UFC as a middleweight (up to 83,9 kg), became champion, and has been fighting at 93 kg since 2023. On several occasions, he has stated his desire to fight as a heavyweight (up to 120,2 kg), the highest division in the UFC.
