After a meteoric start and winning the Academy of the Year award in 2024, Fighting Nerds' recent results haven't been the best, with defeats for Maurício Ruffy, Jean Silva , and Caio Borralho , the group's main characters. Despite all this, the Maranhão native sought to bring a new perspective to the situation in a conversation with the other team members.

The speech was captured and released on Carlos Prates ' YouTube channel last Thursday (18). Right after a training session at his own academy, Borralho asked for the floor to make a brief statement to his teammates. First of all, the middleweight (up to 83,9 kg) praised the work done by the team since the beginning of his stardom in MMA.
"What we failed to pay attention to is that one of the main objectives since we started the team and this new philosophy of approaching fighting has been achieved. We changed the mentality, the way we act, and the way we study fighting, not only here but in several teams in Brazil and around the world. And this may have affected our knowledge. The guys are behaving differently, studying more, and approaching the profession differently because of our influence," the fighter stated.

Caio Borralho demanded changes at the academy
Following his line of reasoning, Borralho went on to state that the team's athletes need to reform themselves to return to the winning column.
"Now, it's not enough to just be Fighting Nerds; we need to be something more. Because they're all managing to be Fighting Nerds. What else do we have to offer? I think that's where our minds need to be and what we need to think about," he concluded.
