Lightweight standout accuses Charles do Bronx of 'fear' of accepting a fight at UFC Rio

Mateusz Gamrot uses provocation to try to secure a spot in the main fight after Rafael Fiziev's withdrawal

Mateusz gamrot decided to resort to provocation to guarantee the duel against Charles of the Bronx in the main fight of UFC Rio (up to 70,3 kg). Recently, Raphael Fiziev, the former champion's original rival, was injured and forced to withdraw from the bout. As a result, several names have raised their hands to take the spot, including the Polish fighter, who, apparently, is looking to win the fight through trash talk.

In a post on 'X', formerly Twitter, Gamrot published a drawing, made by artificial intelligence, where Charles of the Bronx appears worried about finding a new opponent, while he appears accepting the challenge and offering a chicken to the former champion.

"The Lion holds the record for most ground submissions in UFC history; he's afraid to face a ground fighter," Gamrot wrote in the caption.

Ranked fourth in the division, the Bronx native sees the fight in front of his home crowd as an opportunity to regain his winning ways and once again dream of a title shot.

Besides Gamrot, Renato Moicano also made himself available to face the former champion at home. Already Benoit Saint-Denis, who had emerged as a possibility, had his presence ruled out by the businessman after recently returning to the octagon in UFC Paris.
