The search for a new opponent for Charles of the Bronx at UFC Rio, on October 11th, continues to move the lightweight division (up to 70,3kg). After Renato Moicano, Diego lopes and until LokDog offered to face the former champion, it was Joaquim Silva's turn, the Netto BJJ, raise your hand and make yourself available to replace Raphael Fiziev, who left the card last Friday (19) due to injury.
Buoyed by victory in the Night UFC, in San Antonio, Netto BJJ stated that he is ready to return to the octagon in three weeks. The Brazilian, who trains at American Top Team, emphasized his respect for Charles of the Bronx, but reinforced that he sees the chance as a great professional opportunity.

"To be quite honest, I'm ready. It's a huge opportunity. Charles is an idol to everyone, we all look up to him, but it's a job. I need to work, he needs to work. If this opportunity came up for me, I've already told my manager that I'm ready, I'd fight him, make weight," said the Brazilian in an interview with 'MMA Fighting'.
Despite acknowledging that there are better-positioned names in the running for the spot, Joaquim emphasized that he wouldn't hesitate to accept if the opportunity arose. For him, it would be a dream come true to face his compatriot on a historic stage like UFC Rio.
"I know there are a lot of people ahead of me, big names, people ready, on a winning streak. But if it came my way, I would definitely accept. It would be an honor to fight with Charles of the Bronx in Rio de Janeiro. There's no rivalry, it's just work. It would be a great opportunity, and I'd definitely make the weight in three weeks," he concluded.
