Michael Bisping has weighed in on the discussion about who should be Charles Oliveira 's next opponent at UFC Rio on October 11th. With Rafael Fiziev injured and subsequently withdrawing from the event, the Englishman believes Mateusz Gamrot is the best alternative and suggests the Brazilian is unlikely to refuse the challenge.
The former middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg) highlighted the Polish fighter's attitude, who quickly made himself available to replace Fiziev, and reinforced his confidence that Charles do Bronx would accept the fight. For Bisping, the duel makes sporting sense and, at the moment, is necessary to save the card in Brazil.

“I can’t imagine Charles do Bronx turning down this fight. Remember, these tweets started on Sunday. I’m sure when Charles finds out about this, I’m sure the UFC will also like this fight. Mateusz Gamrot definitely wants it. It’s the fight to make,” Bisping stated on his YouTube channel.
In the Briton's view, Charles do Bronx has all the necessary tools to deal with Gamrot's style and shouldn't show any fear in the face of the challenge. He highlighted the Brazilian's experience against the division's elite and emphasized his decision-making ability in any area of the game.
“I’m sure Charles Oliveira isn’t worried about Mateusz Gamrot ’s style . Charles has shared the octagon with the best. He’s not afraid of anyone. Fighters of that level aren’t afraid. The style he has, the way he moves forward, the way he pressures, the way he exchanges blows, his knockout power. He has the ability to finish fights in every fiber of his being,” he analyzed.
Despite this, Bisping acknowledged that the Pole also poses risks, especially due to his suffocating grappling. Still, he emphasized that the lack of knockout power makes the matchup less dangerous than the one planned against Fiziev.
“ Mateusz Gamrot , based on his style, isn't going to knock him out, because he's not that kind of guy. He tends to move forward, use the single-leg takedown, with his head outside the box, which is dangerous against Charles because of the guillotine chokes. He takes people down and has a suffocating style on the ground. Given Charles do Bronx 's last fight against Topuria, the last thing you want is to face someone with knockout power, which was the case with Fiziev. This is crazy from Gamrot,” he concluded.
