Cormier denies that money is the main reason and points to it being a crucial factor in McGregor's return to the UFC.

Away from the octagon since 2021, Conor McGregor began to lose hope among his fans after promising, and failing to deliver, to return to UFC action. Once again, despite several controversial episodes, the Irishman assures that he will perform for the organization he once reigned over and promises to perform at the unprecedented UFC Casa Branca on July 4, 2026.

Optimistic about the Irishman's possible appearance at the event, Daniel Cormier bet on the reason that is really making McGregor return to training and focus on the confrontation at the White House.

“I think the biggest factor that explains why Conor McGregor is going to fight is the fact that no one believes in him anymore, and some of that shine is starting to fade. It doesn't have to be a big win; it just needs to be a win or a fight that puts him in the spotlight. I think he's coming back, but it's not because he wants to compete. It's because he now understands that people are no longer just in the business of Conor McGregor”, declared Cormier during an appearance on the programmed 'Good Guy/Bad Guy'.

In addition to Cormier, Dana White has already stated that he hopes to have McGregor at the highly anticipated show. Contrary to what he thinks of Jon Jones, the president insists that the Irishman would not let him down when faced with a great opportunity like the White House.

Without wanting to make a mystery, Conor has already stated that he will face Michael chandler, a former rival who starred in The Ultimate Fighter, but their duel ended up not being finalized due to the Irishman's injury. Despite all the statements, Dana indicates that the call for athletes for the event will only begin in February 2026.
