Mateusz Gamrot's persistent taunts towards Charles Oliveira have paid off. Confirmed as the Brazilian's new opponent in the main event of UFC Rio, replacing the injured Rafael Fiziev, the Pole did not hide his satisfaction upon receiving the news.
In a video that went viral on social media, Gamrot appears inside a parked car when he discovers he will face Charles Oliveira at the event on October 11th. In a mix of joy and adrenaline, the fighter starts shouting and needs to get out of the vehicle to release even more emotion. Filmed by a friend, the Polish fighter continues shouting amidst some words in his native language and, at one point, puts his hands on his knees and crouches down, showing some disbelief.

At 34 years old and in the UFC since 2020, Mateusz Gamrot is currently ranked eighth in the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg). The Polish fighter has four wins in his last five fights and is coming off a victory over Slovakian Ludovit Klein in May of this year.
Featuring Charles Oliveira and Mateusz Gamrot in the main event, UFC Rio takes place on October 11th at Farmasi Arena, located in the western part of Rio de Janeiro.
