Wanderlei Silva precisou ser hospitalizado para tratar os ferimentos oriundos do nocaute brutal que sofreu na general fight during Spaten Fight Night 2, in the early hours of Saturday (27) to Sunday (28). The former PRIDE middleweight champion (up to 93 kg) was knocked unconscious after being hit by a punch from one of Acelino Popó Freitas' team members and was rushed to Hospital São Luiz, in the South Zone of São Paulo.

According to Combate's investigation, the veteran's manager stated that he was only given medical attention as a precaution, and that he is already well and conscious. At 49 years old, Wanderlei Silva has been knocked out seven times in MMA throughout more than 50 professional fights.

The event marked the Curitiba native's debut in the noble art, after a career dedicated to mixed martial arts and Muay Thai. During the fight, he broke boxing rules on several occasions and was disqualified in the fourth round after headbutting Popó.

Em meio à confusão, Wand foi atingido pelo treinador Rafael Freitas e foi a nocaute, além de ter sofrido hematomas no rosto.
