In the final stretch for the most important rematch of his career against Alex Poatán, Magomed Ankalayev is doing his part by adding fuel to the fire and further inflaming the rivalry with the Brazilian. In an interview given to UFC 320 Countdown, shown on the official Ultimate channel last Sunday (28), the Russian recalled the first confrontation and confessed to having seen apprehension and even fear in his opponent's attitude.

According to the Dagestani, even though Poatan had the ability to end the fight at any moment, the duel against the former champion brought calm and patience even in what was then the biggest fight of the athlete's career.
"Alex Pereira was scared. He tried to hide it, but his eyes gave it away, without a doubt. Honestly, I've never felt so calm as I did in that fight. I tested him, saw how he attacked me, how he moved, how fast he was. I didn't give him a chance to take a step forward; it was a hunt. I hurt him in the second round, but the round was over," said the current champion.
