The general confusion that marked the end of the fight between Popó and Wanderlei Silva, last Saturday (27), during Spaten Fight Night 2, in São Paulo, gained another chapter this Monday (29). Lip-reading expert Velloso analyzed the images of the moment when the atmosphere heated up in the ring, and revealed important details of the speeches between those involved, including requests for restraint and mutual insults.

According to Velloso, who published a dub of the moment, the four-time world boxing champion, who had just won the fight by disqualification against Wanderlei, even called Werdum in an attempt to calm things down.

In the images analyzed, Popó appears saying, with a worried expression: 'Hey, Werdum”, while gesturing to the fighter and former UFC champion, Fabricio Werdum, who was in Wanderlei's corner.

Despite the effort, the atmosphere became even more tense after the end of the fight, which ended in the 4th round, after repeated fouls by Wanderlei, including headbutts, according to the referee.

The following day, Popó gave an interview saying he regretted the outcome of the fight, which he described as "disappointing," despite the victory. Wanderlei's team, through Werdum, claimed that the former fighter was the victim of a cowardly attack by Acelino's son, Rafael Freitas, who knocked out his rival. Wanderlei suffered head and eye injuries, as well as a broken nose.

The Spaten Fight Night 2 organizers issued a statement condemning the disturbance, stating that "sportsmanship and respect for the rules must always prevail." The statement also stated that the team will continue working to elevate the values ​​of the sport.
