Alex Poatan is focused on the rematch against Magomed Ankalaev, scheduled for this Saturday (4), in Las Vegas (USA), but he remains attentive to what is happening in MMA and, especially, to what is being said about him. So much so that the Brazilian did not let it go and responded to a jab from Tom Aspinall.

Recently, the heavyweight champion (up to 120,2 kg) stated that the renowned striker received special treatment from the company, namely, fights tailored to his style. Upon learning of the Englishman's provocation, Poatan vehemently denied any help from the organization. Finding Aspinall's statement strange, the athlete emphasized that he had considerable merit in achieving such success in MMA coming from a completely different sport.

"We're talking about the biggest organization. I came from kickboxing, with no experience in grappling or MMA, and look what I did. We're talking about the highest level. So, if they put the worst in the UFC to fight me in my weight class, that would be a disadvantage for me. So, I don't understand it," said the Brazilian at UFC 320's media day.

Poatan's main victories

In the UFC since 2021, the renowned striker has had a meteoric rise in MMA, shining in the octagon. The Brazilian was champion in the middleweight division (up to 83,9 kg), light heavyweight division (up to 93 kg) and defeated big names in the sport such as Israel Adesanya, Jamahal Hill, Jan Błachowicz, Jiri Prochazka (twice), Khalil Rountree Jr. and Sean Strickland.
