In a duel valid for the bantamweight division (up to 61,2 kg), Patchy mix He was defeated by Jakub Wiklacz. The former Bellator champion, heavily criticized after a lackluster debut in the UFC, showed resilience and used his experience to even the fight, but let victory slip away in the judges' decision.
With the result, Mix suffered his second consecutive loss and remains winless in the world's largest MMA organization. Wiklacz, meanwhile, earned his 17th career victory, his first in the UFC.
In the first round, Wiklacz exploited the middle range effectively, working body kicks and taking advantage of his greater reach to land solid straight shots. Mix, however, cut the angle, closed the distance, and secured a takedown. Without much action on the ground, the fight returned to the feet, and after another takedown attempt by the American, the two exchanged positions, with the Pole ending up on top.
In the second round, Patchy went on the attack to make up for lost time, but Wiklacz maintained his strategy of controlling the distance with body kicks. Mix attempted another takedown and was nearly caught by a guillotine choke. By the final half of the round, the Pole was already showing signs of fatigue, and the American began to move forward, landing the best strikes.
By the final round, both men were exhausted, but they knew the outcome was still in the balance. Mix started aggressively, avoided another guillotine, and, from the top, controlled the fight on the ground while the Polish fighter sought sweeps and neck attacks. In the final stretch, to boos, Patchy managed to take the back, but there was no more time to seek the submission.
