So much so that the Brazilian, even before entering action, joked backstage and even danced with his team.

In a video released by the UFC's official Instagram profile, a smiling Poatan performs his traditional swaying move alongside Glover Teixeira and Plinio Cruz, his friends and coaches. And the renowned striker's happiness paid off in the octagon.

Defeated in March, the Brazilian ignored Ankalaev in the rematch and knocked him out in just over a minute, turning what was supposed to be a battle into a monologue. And if there was dancing before the fight, Poatan repeated the steps after the announcement of his victory, still in the octagon.

In the UFC since 2021, Alex Poatán starred in a meteoric rise in MMA, shining in the octagon. The Brazilian was a middleweight and light heavyweight champion, defeating big names in the sport such as Israel adesanya, Jamahal hill, Jan Blachowicz, Jiri Prochazka (twice), Khalil rountree jr, Magomed Ankalayev e Sean Strickland.
