Alex Poatan shows no mercy to Magomed Ankalaev and his team, continuing to taunt them. In October, in Las Vegas (USA), the Brazilian shone by knocking out his rival in just over a minute of fighting, evening the score and regaining the UFC light heavyweight title (up to 93 kg). After learning that the Russian's team claimed he fought injured, the athlete seemed not to believe such a justification.
In the question and answer session with fans, held last Friday (10), in Rio de Janeiro, and which was attended by SUPER LUTAS , Poatan provoked the rival team and stressed that the tactic was an attempt to minimize the defeat of the same and the impact of his performance at UFC 320. Immediately after the fight, our report found out that Ankalaev fought with a fractured rib.
Furthermore, an exclusive video obtained by our team showed the Russian being treated by a doctor and receiving an injection before facing the Brazilian. According to Alex, his rival may have indeed entered the octagon "shot" to face him, but nothing too damaging. For the athlete, Ankalaev's injury was caused more by the power of his punches than by training before the fight.
“I don’t know, it’s impossible to know, but I think it hurt him a little there too. If it was already hurting, it hurt more. I don’t think there are any excuses. I also had a thousand excuses to give there. I waited to speak now, when this fight was practically happening. Now, they’ve already released one. I don’t know, maybe to take away my merit. I don’t know,” said the UFC champion.
Poatan also complained
If Magomed Ankalaev 's team justified the loss to Alex Poatan by blaming a rib injury, the Brazilian acted no differently in their first fight. In March, the renowned striker lost to his rival by unanimous decision, and later reported that he showed up in poor condition for the bout. Upset by the criticism, the athlete stated that he fought at only 40% of his capacity.
