Magomed Ankalaev , it seems, is in a hurry to return to the octagon. The Russian faced Alex Poatan at UFC 320, held on October 4th, where he was dominated by the Brazilian and knocked out in just 80 seconds. However, this Wednesday (15), just 10 days after the defeat, he is already back in training.

In a video posted on Instagram, Magomed Ankalaev appeared in a low-intensity striking training session with his coach. However, in the caption, the Russian implied that the defeat to Poatan is not the end of his journey and that he will return soon.

"The journey continues. This is only the beginning," wrote Magomed Ankalaev.

Alex Poatan x Magomed Ankalaev rivalry

After racking up four knockouts in four title fights and becoming the best fighter in the world in 2024, Alex Poatan was paired against Magomed Ankalaev in the main event of UFC 313. The narrative that the Russian, with his takedown threat, would be the worst technical matchup for the Brazilian proved true, and the Dagestani fighter had his arm raised by unanimous decision of the judges.
