Brandon Allen took advantage of the opportunity he had at UFC Vancouver . Replacing Anthony Hernandez , the athlete faced Reinier De Ridder in the main event this Saturday (18), in Canada, and surprised. Considered an underdog, the American displayed quality in grappling in the clash between specialists in the sector and hurt his opponent so much that he came out as the winner by technical knockout (submission) in the fourth round.
Now, Allen has two consecutive wins in the UFC and will make a significant leap in the middleweight rankings (up to 83,9 kg). Before facing De Ridder, the American was number nine in the category's rankings. Having defeated the fourth-ranked fighter, he should assume that position. Excited by the victory, 'All In' challenged champion Khamzat Chimaev and Dricus Du Plessis to his next fight.

The main event of UFC Vancouver pitted two jiu-jitsu specialists against each other, and indeed, it unfolded on the ground. In the first round, De Ridder was superior and gave the American no chance, controlling him on the ground and landing punches and elbows.
However, from the second round onward, the tide turned. Calmly, Allen wasn't fazed by his initial defeat and turned the tables, also using grappling. Conscientious and technical, the athlete controlled the Dutchman and punished him on the ground, landing punches and elbows, damaging his face.
In the third and fourth rounds, Allen repeated the strategy, as De Ridder appeared frail, tired, with facial bleeding and swelling. The American's punishment was so severe that the Dutchman informed his team that he was unwell to continue the fight. Thus, the referee ended the fight, due to his corner's withdrawal.
