Apparently, Jailton Malhadinho was one of the big losers at UFC 321. At the event held last Saturday (25), in Abu Dhabi (UAE), the Brazilian lost a crucial fight in the heavyweight division (up to 120,2 kg) to Alexander Volkov by split decision and was sidelined from the title fight. As if that wasn't enough, to make matters worse, Dana White didn't forgive the athlete for his attitude during the fight.
In the Octagon, Malhadinho landed several takedowns on the Russian from the first to the third and final rounds, but on the ground, he rarely attacked and barely managed to cause significant damage. On the contrary, Volkov, even on the bottom, proved more aggressive than the Brazilian. Therefore, the company president, at the post-UFC 321 press conference, didn't hesitate to criticize the athlete for stalling the fight.

It's true that, despite Jailton's ineffective stance in the octagon, a portion of the MMA community considered him the winner. However, Dana agreed with the two judges who gave Volkov the win, as he seemed more interested in attacking.
"You can't just go into a fight and lie on top of someone. That's not how it works. I was really happy with how the judges scored that fight. I'm happy the judges gave Volkov the win. I think he deserved it, and I think he won. You can't win a fight by doing nothing. You can't just lie on someone and win a fight," Dana said.
