Sonnen taunts Jon Jones and questions fight with Poatan at the White House: 'There's something very wrong with this'

Chael Sonnen poured cold water on the hype surrounding the super fight between Jon Jones and Alex Poatan in the UFC. On his YouTube channel, the former fighter stated that the duel scheduled for the White House on June 14, 2026, may not happen and criticized the timing and 'Bones' fixation on the event's location.

"The only thing that doesn't add up is this White House thing. There aren't any nice guys talking about the White House," Sonnen said.

According to Anderson Silva 's former rival , Jones' fixation on the location indicates that he may not be truly interested in returning to the octagon anytime soon. Sonnen pointed out that while Poatan seeks to establish himself after winning the light heavyweight title and triggering a heavyweight title fight, Jones remains absent from competitions.

"The only one who doesn't want to fight is Jon. If Poatan finds out he's only going to fight Jones in three seasons, he might not even want the fight anymore," Sonnen added.

The super fight between Jon Jones and Poatan heated up…

The challenge was made by Poatan right after UFC 321 last Saturday (25), when Tom Aspinall and Ciryl Gane finished their main fight without a result. Jon Jones accepted the invitation the following day.

Sonnen warns that the timing could jeopardize the hype, as the official fight isn't scheduled until mid-2026. The commentator also suggests that the former champion's choice of venue may have more to do with prestige than actual competition.
