The incident involving Tom Aspinall and Ciryl Gane at UFC 321 last Saturday (25) continues to generate repercussions among athletes. The main fight, valid for the linear heavyweight belt (up to 120,2kg), ended in 'no contest' after the Frenchman hit the current champion in the eye with a finger, who was unable to continue the fight after medical attention. The fight was interrupted in the first round, in Abu Dhabi (UAE).

After the incident, Jiri Prochazka used his social media to comment on the situation.

“I really don't know how much this weighed on the title fight last week, but for me it's essential to win,” said the 'Samurai' on his official Instagram account.

During the exchange of blows at the end of the first round, Ciryl Gane accidentally hit Aspinall in the eye. The Briton was evaluated by the UFC medical team and, because he was unable to see, the fight was stopped, keeping Aspinall as the champion of the category.
