Tom Aspinall had his image tarnished at UFC 321, held last Saturday (25), but he took advantage of the situation to shine on Halloween. The Briton faced Ciryl Gane in the main fight of the event and, after suffering an eye poke, was forced to give up the fight, an attitude that generated criticism from fans and the media, but also inspired a good costume for the American themed party.

In a humorous tone, the heavyweight champion (up to 120,2 kg) appeared on his Instagram stories wearing an eye patch in reference to the foul committed by Gane. And it didn't stop there: Aspinall even suggested a costume for the Frenchman and, with the help of artificial intelligence, posted an image of his rival dressed as the villain Freddy Krueger.

Another fighter who used creativity and the controversial ending of UFC 321 to draw attention was Jon Jones . The UFC Hall of Famer took advantage of the turbulent moment in Tom Aspinall 's career to provoke his rival.
Last Wednesday (29), Jones arrived in style at the official weigh-in for Dirty Boxing 4. Not content with being mounted on a horse, the former UFC champion also put an eye patch on the animal, in allusion to the Briton.

"We have a beautiful horse with an eye patch. We're having a good night," said the MMA legend.

At the start of the fight, Gane bounced on his toes, avoiding the British fighter's reach. Aspinall, in turn, used feints to get closer and land a decisive blow. In an attempt to close in on the champion, Gane landed a straight right hand that gave Aspinall a nosebleed.
In the final stretch of the round, the Frenchman used his speed to land jabs and move away before the Brit could respond. However, during one of these exchanges, Gane poked Aspinall in the eye. The referee immediately stopped the fight, and after a doctor's evaluation, the fight was officially declared a no-contest.
With this, Tom Aspinall retained the undisputed heavyweight title (up to 120,2 kg), even without having won a title fight in his career. Ciryl Gane , in turn, once again fell short in his third attempt to take center stage in the division.
