Superiority! Alex Poatan taunts Ankalaev and intensifies rivalry in the UFC: 'Just a reminder'

Alex Poatan is overjoyed. In October, in Las Vegas (USA), the Brazilian knocked out Magomed Ankalaev in just over a minute in the rematch to regain the UFC light heavyweight title (up to 93 kg). Months after impressing in the octagon, the renowned striker, as well as his fans, is still celebrating the triumph and, consequently, taunting his rival.

Last Sunday (2), Poatan expressed his satisfaction with the knockout he delivered to the Russian, making sure to post it on his official 'Instagram' account with a strong message. It is worth noting that, before the first fight, held in March and won by Ankalaev by unanimous decision, he and his team provoked the Brazilian incessantly.

In the rematch, the Russian adopted the same tactic, but Alex, visibly irritated and thirsty for revenge, proved more aggressive in the octagon and unleashed his fury, giving him no chance. Thus, the veteran still celebrates what for many was his greatest victory in the UFC, reinforcing his superiority over his rival and implying that he is the one in charge in the octagon, intensifying the rivalry between them.

"Just a reminder. CALL," wrote the UFC champion.

Poatan's next step

Currently, Alex Poatan is eyeing a super fight against Jon Jones in the UFC heavyweight division (up to 120,2 kg). However, if he remains in the light heavyweight division, the Brazilian is likely to face either Carlos Ulberg or Jiri Prochazka . The New Zealander is ranked third and has a nine-fight winning streak. The Czech is a former champion in the division and is currently second in the rankings. The problem for 'Denisa' is that he has lost twice to the renowned striker via knockout.

It's quite true that the rivalry between the Brazilian and Magomed Ankalaev remains alive and even. However, since the Russian doesn't enjoy prestige within the UFC, he should be discarded, passed over in favor of the athletes mentioned above.
