Former lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg), the UFC's all-time leading finisher, and a member of the world's largest MMA event for 15 years, Charles do Bronx has many passions beyond the world of martial arts. Among his hobbies, participating in horse racing has become increasingly common in the "Blamed Lion's" routine in recent years. In fact, the activity may occupy an even larger space than fighting in the athlete's heart.

Charlinho spoke about the subject in a video published by YouTuber Jon Vlogs on the Hype Cortes channel . According to him, although martial arts provides a livelihood, taking care of horses for racing is something that brings him more joy.

“I’m passionate about this. I tell everyone: Horses are my passion. They’re my escape valve, a way to clear my mind. However, what God put in my life to change my family’s history was fighting, so my focus is on fighting. If I were a guy who didn’t need anything, I’d definitely be doing this. It’s what I love. I’m passionate about this shit,” said the Brazilian, who has a horse tattoo on his left arm.

His passion for the sport is longstanding. Before facing Kevin Lee in March 2020, he revealed to the UFC team that he takes care of three horses on his property in Piracicaba, a city located 90 kilometers from São Paulo.
