Jon Jones He seems determined to do whatever it takes to get the coveted opportunity to compete against Alex Poatán No UFC at the White House. This time, Bones came forward publicly in the latest episode of Espaitec's 'No Scripts' last Thursday (6) to apologize to Dana White for alleged mistakes made in negotiations for the fight with Tom aspinallwhich ultimately did not happen, resulting in the retirement of the former light heavyweight (up to 93kg) and heavyweight (up to 120,2kg) champion.

“My most immediate goal is to try and get a spot on the White House card. I’m making room for Dana. Dana changed my life. He changed my life, he changed my kids’ lives. I will be eternally grateful to him. We had a verbal agreement that didn’t work out. Nothing was finalized, but I admit my fault – not guilt, but I was wrong. The way things happened, I was wrong. And I wish I could see him face to face and just apologize so we can put the past behind us and get back to generating a lot of money for the sport and actually entertaining these fans,” Jones stated.

Later, the former fighter went to X (formerly Twitter) to speak more openly about his desire to participate in the card. It's worth noting that the UFC CEO has stated on several occasions that he doesn't trust Jones to headline an event of such magnitude, due to the former champion's troubled history.
“Despite the adversities, I’m still training and optimistic about the possibility of participating in the event at the White House. In the end, Dana is the one in charge and he’s the one who decides whether I’ll compete that night or not. I know Dana was very excited about the fight, and the door wasn’t completely closed. That’s all a guy like me needs. It seems like an incredible goal to inspire me. Sometimes in life, we won’t achieve everything we set out to do, and that’s okay. But I like my chances… after all, one in a billion was exactly what it took to end up like Jon “Bones” Jones,” he concluded.
