A compatriot of Della Maddalena and ADCC world runner-up in 2019 and 2022, Jones participated in the fighter's preparation for other fights, such as the victory against Belal Muhammad . On that occasion, JDM won the duel by unanimous decision and became the new champion of the welterweight division (up to 77,1 kg).
