Carlos Prates he fueled the rivalry with Leon edwards at UFC 322. This Saturday (15), in New York (USA), the Brazilian faces the former welterweight champion (up to 77,1 kg), in a fight of extreme importance for the category and also for his career. And, determined to win the fight, the member of the 'Fighting Nerds' academy shows that he will do everything, even resorting to 'trash talk'.
During the UFC 322 media day, Prates launched an attack against the Englishman and pointed out a weakness he sees in his opponent. According to the Brazilian, Edwards is not a resilient fighter, therefore becoming easy prey in combat when he cannot impose himself. Therefore, since the former champion is going through a bad phase, with two consecutive losses, the athlete predicts that he will succumb to the pressure and will have no answers for his strikes.

“We know that Edwards gives up, that he doesn’t have a very strong mind. After he starts giving up, I’m going to start hurting him even more and I’m going to knock him out. You can’t teach someone to have heart. If you’ve given up once, you’ll always give up. Edwards is the type of fighter who, when things start to get tough, when he sees that it’s going to be a difficult night, starts to give up. He doesn’t do much to try to change the game and forgets to seek victory. He just tries to survive,” said the Brazilian.
